Abstract

BERNARDO FUENTES, Manuela Gilda; GARCIA GALANO, Elsa Vivían  and  POMARES BORY, Eduardo. The education-communication link in the comprehensive training of health professionals. Educ Med Super [online]. 2004, vol.18, n.4, pp.1-1. ISSN 0864-2141.

The higher medical education to give an answer to the social task and to attain its pertinence should also train the basic general physician as a professional well trained in the communication and group coordination skills. The aim of this paper is to consider the communication process in classes as a way to contribute to the mode of acting according to the professional profile and with the acquisition of the communication skills, one of the components of the transformation of the standing paradigm into another one centered on the comprehensive physician. The nature of the challenges of the current historical moment leads to transformations in the pedagogical conception predominating in the Cuban context. This means new demands for the professor, a greater psychopedagogical upgrading and the development of communicative abilities to organize the interaction with students, communicate and lead their activity so as to train a comprehensive professional.

Keywords : Education; communication; teaching-learning process; professor-student interaction.
