REGALADO MIRANDA, Elsa Ramona; REGALADO MIRANDA, Ester María  and  ABREU GARCIA, María Teresa. Evaluation of the curriculum of the Health Management diploma project. Educ Med Super [online]. 2005, vol.19, n.2, pp.1-1. ISSN 0864-2141.

The introduction of information and communication technologies has originated new forms to continue the comprehensive training of the student. One of them is the holding of virtual events for students. The III Student Virtual Congress of Medical Sciences was held in Cuba with the participation of more than 1 000 delegates from 18 countries and the collaboration of 32 faculties and branches of Medical Sciences of the country. The event allowed to take advantage of the leisure time of the students, to develop skills in the use of information and communication technologies, to facilitate the access to updated information and to the publication of complementary materials, to propitiate the relation among the faculties and the connection of Informatics with the rest of the subjects, as well as to prepare the students in the use of telemedicine. These results were an example of the extrateaching and extracurricular activity, both instructive and educative, that also linked the scientific work with the comprehensive development of students and with their professional training.
