Abstract

FARINAS REINOSO, . Ana Teresa  and  SANCHEZ SANTOS, Leonardo. Teaching of HIV/AIDS in the curricula of the medical careers and specialties and of the health technologies. Educ Med Super [online]. 2005, vol.19, n.4. ISSN 0864-2141.

A documental analysis was made to identify the presence of teaching contents on HIV/AIDS in the curricula of Medicine, Nursing Baccalaureate, Stomatology, medical specialties and health technology careers. In most of the syllabuses, it was not possible to compile the number of hours devoted to the study of STD/AIDS. A great number of the programs of the medical specialties could not be reviewed for being under improvement. It was proved that little time is devoted to the study of STD/AIDS in the career of Stomatology. The teaching of STD/AIDS is not included in the new health technology syllabus.

Keywords : HIV/AIDS; curricula; medical careers.
