This study of technological development was conducted aimed at evaluating the professional nursing performance at the neonatology services in Havana City . Some workshops were held with a group of experts composed of nursing baccalaureates and/or nurses specialized in neonatology. In order to design the tools to collect information, a guide of observation, and to perform a nursing auditing, the techniques and/or procedures to be developed by the nursing professionals in this service were chosen. The gynecoobstetric, maternal and children's hospitals with neonatology services were also selected. . An analysis of the study variables was made starting from the created databases. Data processing included statistical methods and the qualitative analysis of the results, which allowed to reach conclusions on the design of the different tools to be used, and the poor knowledge and training of the nursing professionals in relation to the techniques and procedures observed.
