CANIZARES LUNA, C. Oscar; SARASA MUNOZ, C. Nélida  and  LABRADA SALVAT, Carmen. Integrated teaching of the Basic Biomedical Sciences in Comprehensive Community Medicine. Educ Med Super [online]. 2006, vol.20, n.1. ISSN 0864-2141.

Integrated teaching is very topical at the present moment in contemporary pedagogy and a challenge in the design of the international training programs. Aimed at going deeper into the knowledge and foundation of this approach applied to the teaching of basic biomedical sciences in the Program of Comprehensive Community Medicine of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, an updating of the topic and a documental review were made including plans and programs of integrated education, normative documents of the medical training programs in Cuba and Venezuela, the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and other special publications of the Presidency of the Republic. The positive experiences attained in both countries allow to confirm the advantages of the teaching of Human Morphophysiology as an integrated discipline and as an answer to the transformations occurring in the Venezuelan higher education.

Keywords : Integrated teaching; basic biomedical sciences; teaching; learning; medical education.
