Abstract

DOMINGUEZ HERNANDEZ, Roberto  and  GONZALEZ PEREZ, Miriam. Variables of the teaching process and principles for curricular renewal of the medical career. Educ Med Super [online]. 2006, vol.20, n.2. ISSN 0864-2141.

The present curriculum of medical career is already 20 years-old, so this provides enough reasons for the analysis of its relevance. If the significant changes in higher education in general and medical education in particular are added together with the deep transformations occurring in the national healthcare system, particularly in primary care that is the main work setting of the graduate, then the analysis turns into an urgent need to be met. For these reasons, two main research objectives were set: the analysis of the present curriculum of medical career to identify its weaknesses, and the proposal of a scientifically founded system of principles for curricular renewal. Deficiencies of the current curriculum were studied through consultation to experts, and then a system of principles for curricular renewal was enunciated

Keywords : Curricular design; medicine and curriculum; curricular project; former ideas.
