Abstract

BLANCO ASPIAZU, Miguel Ángel et al. Theoretical model to assess the quality of physical examination of a patient. Educ Med Super [online]. 2006, vol.20, n.3. ISSN 0864-2141.

The results of the analysis of literature and of the experience accumulated by the authors on the approach of the evaluation of the physical examination quality were dealt with. It was started from the need to integrate this evaluation to the medical interview, of which the phase of information search on the patient's problem in the diagnostic process is also a part. It was also stressed the necessity of a more dynamic character of the physical examination and of its position after the interview. To assess the physical examination quality, the authors proposed to take as a model the examination directed to the needs of the patient and, on observing it, to classify and define the possible errors to perform an efficient educative feedback.
