RODRIGUEZ ALONSO, Beatriz et al. Analysis of the contents of the clinical assays in the training program for the general basic physician. Educ Med Super [online]. 2008, vol.22, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 0864-2141.
A descriptive study was carried out to identify the thematic contents present in the traditional curriculum of the medical career that may contribute to the preliminary training of the general basic physician in the management of research. We interviewed heads of public health departments of 4 faculties of Medicine of the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana City to identify the carrying-out of the teaching-learning process in experimental studies. The rain of ideas technique was applied to a group of experts. The knowledge of the physicians that may contribute to the clinical assays management was classified into general and specific. We identify 4 subjects and 2 formative stays that may contribute through their contents to the training of research in general and, particularly, to the familiarization of the graduate in clinical assay, if they were taught in a articulate way and if they presented as a thematic axis the purpose of acquiring tools for scientific research. That's why, they graduate with learning needs in Research Methodology, Epidemiology, Research Biostatistics, and causality; elements that should be supposedly approached during the pregrade period, and they lack knowledge of Good Clinical Practice. We suggested modifications in the curriculum contributing to the training of the future graduate with a familiarization level in experimental studies.
