Abstract

A cross-sectional and descriptive expofacto(?) study was made to determine the opinion of students on their carrying out and performance in I Microscopic Anatomy subject from Medicine Program of "Lisandro Alvarado" Central Western University. Ninety six students were included as study subjects during 2006-11. A structured questionnaire (2 parts) was applied, one refers to personal data and another related to carrying out including cognitive abilities, responsibility, interpersonal communication abilities. In general, the opinion of students was of a mean carrying out, and trend of academic performance was fair. From the total of students with mean carrying out, 48,4% and 32,3% had a good carrying out and regular, respectively, only the 3,2% was very poor. Results will serve of "reinvestment" for the professors of I Microscopic Anatomy, the program and coordinator program, to plan actions allowing optimizing student carrying out and academic performance.
