Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To asses the contribution level that teaching participants and students consider that contents of Biomedical Basic Disciplines may to contribute to medical professional training in its integration to social activities. METHODS: Authors performed a work on the application of didactic conception and strategy in medical training process. RESULTS: Strategy in its three stages allowed the performing of a community intervention in teaching groups of the first year of Medicine career during the second semester of 2004-2005 courses. The planned activities allowed the home visits of patients with health situations according to contents of nervous, endocrine or reproductive system contents studied in this stage. Criteria of 106 patients advocate the staying of this experience performed by 25 students, which were positive and significant depending on Kolmogorov-Smirnov parametric test. CONCLUSIONS: The corroborations performed with students and professors show the feasibility of theoretical and practical contributions in the solution of insufficiencies present in the social integration like a problem, in contents of teaching of Biomedical Basic Disciplines, thus these tools guarantee the explicit recognition of its need, updating, and usefulness for the process of medical professional training.
