This study was intended to determine the effect of the virtual tutorials (VT) as supplementary tools on the global marks of university students. From the universe of study, a non-probabilistic sample of 44 students was taken, being the control the same group of students before the pedagogic intervention. The VT started after the first global evaluation thru the end of the course, using "Google© Groups". Global evaluations I (without virtual tutorial) and global evaluations 2 (with virtual tutorial) in addition to descriptively analyzed data and t-test analyzed data for depending samples were collected. The results showed that the VT as supplementary tool significantly improve the marks of the global evaluations of the students who use them (p<0,01). Additionally, a pattern of frequency in the participation of students that would be associated to proximity of the exam schedules was noticed. It is necessary that the higher education institutions promote innovative educational practices that will encourage learning.
