The article reflected the main characteristics and educational results achieved by the medical students registered in the 2004-2005 academic year in the university policlinic project ascribed to "Finlay Albarrán"School of Medical Sciences. These students were located in the university policlinics of Lisa and Marianao municipalities respectively, both of which began implementing this pedagogic model. This group of students was characterized on the basis of the analysis of their academic results in the first five years of study. Logical documentary and historical analysis research methods were used for the cross-sectional study of the problem. The most relevant results were as follows: at the end of the 5th year, 67.4% of the initial roll is finishing the studies; the teaching results are satisfactory with outstanding general academic index. It was concluded that there was some correlation between the characterization of successful students and the high levels of motivation and educational results.
