Abstract

With the objective of evaluating the communicative skills acquired in their specialization courses, the instruments designed in an educational research work carried out from May through September 2011 in the imaging specialty in "Hermanos Ameijeiras" clinical and surgical hospital were presented in this paper. To this end, an extensive literature review was made on the topic to select those instruments that had been previously applied for the same purpose but in another setting, and they were finally adapted to be used in the aforementioned medical institution. Full and associate professors in this specialty made up a group which served as experts. The paper provided the fundamental conceptual elements that led to the selection and adequacy of the instruments. The final result was the designed instruments to collect information, that is, a survey and an observation guideline that would be applied in real life situations to assess their performance during the care of patient.
