Introduction:

The volume of data, the complexity of concepts and procedures, and the constant renewal of technicians and specialists make necessary a comprehensive plan for the continuous training of human resources linked to the National Cancer Registry of Cuba.

Objective:

To describe the plan for continuous training of human resources of the National Cancer Registry.

Methods:

The training plan was designed by means of a qualitative descriptive study, through the use of bibliographic and documentary review on the background of traditional and modern pedagogy, as well as new methods and didactic elements.

Results:

More than 15 professionals joined the project as part of the teaching strategy and sustainability. Senior professors make up the academic board for the continuous training of human resources. Pedagogical principles, the general organization of continuous training of human resources and important design elements are shown as main results.

Conclusions:

The development of continuous training of human resources will improve competencies and ensure the updating of knowledge, as well as the scientific and technical qualification of the personnel linked to the National Cancer Registry; it will also enhance data quality and the ability to carry out data analysis.
