The medical histories of 100 randomized patients admitted in hospital due to hip fracture were reviewed in order to know who suffered from ischemic cardiopathy. It was found that 62 % of them had this affection. The nursing attention given to these patients was analized and some actions are determined and proposed to be included in their caring plan so as to prevent and treat adequately some possible complications, such as the acute aggravation of chronic ischemic cardiopathy, the cardiorespiratory arrest, and sudden death.
