In order to make known the indications and use of the therapeutic soft contact lens, which is another advance in the treatment of corneal diseases, 31 soft contact lens were used as a protective dressing in 23 patients affected by different ophthalmological affections, such as: primary epithelial diseases, traumatic epithelial affections, immunological diseases and dry eye, viral diseases, endothelial decompensation and with cosmetic and refractives ends. A marked decrease of the functional symptoms and an increase of the cicatrization of wounds, ulcers, etc., as well as an aesthetic and optic improvement were attained in these cases. A previous ophthalmologic evaluation of the patient was made taking into account the type of affection, keratometry, examination with slit lamp, visual acuity before placing the therapeutic lens and subjective symptoms. The patients were followed-up at the Contactology Department at 24 hours, at 7 days and every 21 days. The soft contact lens wear time oscillated between 8 and 60 weeks.
