Refractive surgery of cataract has become a well-defined and widely-accepted technique by surgeons in charge of the anterior segment. This means that the objectives to be achieved should be carefully planned and that the surgical technique should be accurate. The main purpose of this paper was to study the results of Tilt & Tumble´s technique in cataract removal surgery using phacoemulsification and its performance in our context. A prospective cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 272 patients (eyes) seen at the Ocular Microsurgery Center of “Ramón Pando Ferrer” Cuban Institute of Ophthalmology, who were selected by a simple randomized sampling. Their average age was 61 years. Most of them presented with hard crystalline lens and low average time of ultrasound application. Preoperative and postoperative average visual acuity with correction significantly improved by 5 lines in Snellen´s chart. Surgically-induced astigmatism was low. Finally, complications were examined and the events occured in the course of surgery were detailed. It was observed that rupture of posterior capsule and vitreous detachment were the most frequent events
