The theme of the health sector reform, from the Cuban perspective, is approached in the setting of the prevailing concepts of the proposition for the reform, and of the accelerated transformations due to the country situation in the first years of the '90s decade, having in mind the importance of all that for the cooperation of the PAHO. The debate is set in the conceptualist universe, from which the propositions for a sectorial health reform come forth and develop. The propositions with a higher operation in our region, are discussed. The meaning that the sectorial reform has for Cuba, is shown from a position that intends to open a debate, more than marking standards for its adoption and application.
