The creation of the Antitoxic Centers (ATC), was an-important factor in reducing the acute intoxications all over the world. The paper indicates the particularities of the cuban ATC, the causes of morbility and mortality by intoxication of children in our country, are analized, and the need of creating a service of pediatric toxicology is emphasized. The structure and functioning that this center should have, are explained, in detailed, and it is recommended its creation in the Pediatric Hospital "Juan Manuel Márquez".
