The mortality rate shows the people’s health condition, hence, it is important to identify the causes affecting a territory, in a higher degree, in order to control them properly, therefore, the decision was to study them in Camagüey in the range of 15 to 59 years, because this is the period of life with higher productive and reproductive value. A Trend-analysis between 1980 and 1991 was made and extreme triennial periods were-analized, according to the first causes, age and sex; in addition, the characteristics of the premature mortality rate were known. It was evident a reduction in 3 of the 4 main causes of death. The order was kept in a general form in 2 analized triennial periods. The degenerative causes increased by age and accidents. The autoinflicted lesions and suicides were the main causes of premature deaths.
