With the aim of assessing the implementation of the control and prevention program of tuberculosis in "Pedro Kourí" Institure, 86 medical records of patients diagnosed with this disease by the IPK hospital during 1994-95 were checked. 68 patients discharged from the hospital with this diagnosis were also evaluated. A survey model designed for this purpose was used and EpiInfo6 and Microsta programs were used for statistical analysis. Deficiencies were detected in the control of some important indicators of the national program such as delay in diagnosis, isolation and notification of patients that could pose a risk of disease transmission in workers and patients alike, particularly, the inmunosupresed. It was concluded that there are some problems in the implementation of set procedures of the program.
