A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 112 adolescents aged 11-19 years, who had been seen at the Child-Youth Gynecological Outpatient Service of Playa municipality since the establishment of such service in September 1st, 1996 till August 1st,2000. The object of study lied in those adolescents whose medical records were made according to the official model set for this type of services. The model includes among other aspects: reasons for going to see the doctor, some sexuality characteristics, contraception methods, etc. Individual interviews and participatory communication were used to approach these adolescents. The main reasons for going to the doctor´s were: looking for contraceptive orientation, suffering from cervicitis and leukorrea and requesting menstrual regulation or abortion. Sexual relations started at very early ages fundamentally because one partner was put under pressure for sexual intercourse, without contraceptive protection or privacy. The most used contraceptive method was the orally administered hormone and the majority of adolescents kept on using contraception devices, with low index of contraception neglecting. Most of he patients had a cure for cervix-vaginal sepsis. Their families participated in medical appointments in most of the cases. Percentage method was used as statistical method together with binomial test for ratio comparisons
