Resumen

GONZALEZ PEREZ, Ubaldo. Ubicación de la ética, la bioética y la ética médica en el campo del conocimiento. Rev Cubana Salud Pública [online]. 2002, vol.28, n.3. ISSN 0864-3466.

The atrocities of the so-called western civilization, the unlimited mercantilism and individualism, the different forms of violence and the dehumanized use of science and technology, together with the positive results of development, have been spread all over the world by the phenomenon of globalization, endangering in some cases the existance of life in the planet. This has led to a moral crisis of society based on the economic and juridical order of exploitation. Pragmatism as a physlosophy of the monopolies has distorted morality and not only preaches that what is useful is true, but that what is useful is moral. This has been the justification of the most ferocious individualism humanity has ever known. To face it, it is necessary to wage a strong moralizing battle having as a ruling principle the need of an economic and juridical order with equity and the social participation of the masses, which is the only way to conquer the moral humanism men need to save themselves. A moral giving priority to peace, to solidarity among the peoples and to consideration with the neighbor, be a culture or an individual. A moral that encourages the rulers, the community, the family an the individual to enjoy the pleasure of helping others to progress. To initiate this dialogue and these unpostponable reflexions and to clarify and to have a thorough knowledge of the terms and concepts related to moral and ethics, I suggest this modest attempt in the form of essay. Knowing the elementary differences between moral, morality, ethics and bioethics, medical ethics and other related terms, as well as reflecting on the characteristics of bioethics, its origin and scope may help us to find out the ill-intentioned use some made of it and how important it is to turn it into an instrument of education and ideological struggle for the benefit of the exploited and discriminated of the Third World and of millions of people that having a good living standard cannot enjoy it due to the moral conflicts and alineation they have been led to by a world of violence, individualism, distrust and false needs of consumption as a synoym of happiness, and by a terrifying figure of evasive behaviors taking refuge in the increasing use of drugs and alcohol. Progressive men should commit themselves with the ethic denounce against dehumanization and the hegemonism of market and violence, which persist in subjecting humanity to their selfish purposes

Palabras clave : MORALS; CONFILCT OF INTEREST; BIOETHICS; HELPING BEHAVIOR; ETHIC, PROFESSIONAL [education]; ETHICS, MEDICAL; WESTERN WORLD; DEVELOPING COUNTRIES [economics].
