Consumption and serum levels of micronutrients in older adults from a family physician's office. This paper was aimed at evaluating the nutritional status of older adults in relation to certain micronutrients at a family physician's office. 24 men and 28 women aged 60-91 were studied by using dietetic and biochemical indicators. Diet evaluation was made through a semiquantitative survey on food consumption frequency. The concentration of vitamins A, E. C, betacarotene and zinc in blood serum were determined. The state of vitamins A, E and C and of betacarotene had no problems; however, only 28.5 % of the individuals had adequate values of vitamin C and 46 % had low levels of zinc in blood. Recommendations were made to establish a food and nutritional education
