Sexually transmitted infections, HIV, intrafamily violence and abortion as a result of an undesired pregnancy are priority topics in the field of sexual and reproductive health in Cuba . The importance of these topics is not only the value granted to them in the sexual health policies of the country, but the fact that the efforts made to reduce their incidence, prevalence or consequences in women's life are not always expressed in an effective drop in health statistics. The gender perspective makes possible to extend the analysis of female morbidity from these causes and to organize strategies allowing an approach to the desired health indicators regarding sexual health
