The study of ethical dilemmas has turned to be one of the most current philosophical topics in the context of scientific-intellectual production. This article was prepared with a multidisciplinary approach that projects on the philosophical, medical, religious, psychological, legal and political thinking. The acquired immunodeficiency syndrome brings a series of social, psychological and ethical factors that, because of their peculiar characteristics, are worthy to be analyzed from these perspectives. The objectives of the present paper were to analyze the compliance with the basic principles of Ethics with respect to autonomy, charity, no harm and fairness of care of those persons living with HIV, together with psychological repercussion derived from ethical dilemmas of professional interaction with these persons as well as to show some suggestions that, on the authors´ opinion, will contribute to the ethical treatment of these patients.
