Resumen

SANCHEZ, O.E et al. INTRODUCTION OF THE SOFTWARE FITOVIGIA 3.0 INTO THE NATIONAL PHYTOSANITARY SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM. Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2009, vol.24, n.3, pp.152-155. ISSN 1010-2752.

From a previous project, the software FITOVIGIA, which supports the phytosanitary surveillance, was implemented in the "Center of Phytosanitary Reference for the Mountain", "the Regional Stations of Plant Protection of Buey Arriba"; located in Granma province, and in the Regional Stations of Plant Protection of Caonao, in Cienfuegos province. With the introduction of the software, it was verified that it allows informing the presence and intensity of foci; the geographical position and monitoring of a specific pest; crop density; edaphoclimatic characterization; analysis of risks and breaches; inspections and samplings, as well as the calculation of economical, social and environmental impacts for determining cost-benefit indicators in a given prevention program. Furthermore, new benefits were added in providing access to reference materials and updated scientific information.

Palabras clave : phytosanitary surveillance; biological control; software; quarantine pests.
