The links of Anthropology and Medicine as sciences devoted to the study of man from the biological, physical and social viewpoints are substantiated. The background of the emergence of the Anthropological Society of the Cuban Island in October, 1877 and of its scientific publication in September, 1879 are also dealt with. Some organizational aspects of the Bulletin of the Anthropological Society of the Cuban Island as well as information on its formal aspects are given. In order that the contents of the publication may be more deeply known, a bibliographical description is made through a listing of all the references contained in its pages until it ceased to be issued in 1887.
