The principles of the management of total quality, as well as the importance of their application in the information institutions to provide effective services and products in order to meet the users’ needs are approached here. The reorganization of a basic process is illustrated: translation, within an organization, the Translation and Interpretation Services Team (ESTI, in Spanish), from the perspective of an automated network. Its main components are dealt with.
