The publication of scientific journals is a laborious and complex academic and administrative process where multiple actors and factors take part. A general characterization of the functions developed by each of them is made and the importance of the arbiters to guarantee the quality of their contents is stressed. The professionalism, rigorousness, and dedication of the different members of the editorial team in the fulfillment of the assigned tasks is the milestone of the prosperous existence and the progress of a scientific journal.
