As part of the actions carried out to respond to the need of constant upgrading and up-dating of specialists and technicians in the National Medical Science Information System, a vocabulary stock was designed for the indexing of the articles published in the journal ACIMED, as well as the reprints included in the RACI data base. In this article information is provided, in a synthetic manner, on the data sources used and the methodology applied to make up the vocabulary, and other aspects related to its structure, term presentation and applications are detailed.
