Aimed at determining the conservation degree of the funds of the Cuban National Medical Library funds as well as their main damaging factors, a sample composed of 495 journals, 142 books and 126 research papers was chosen at random. In the 3 types of studied documents the bindings were more damaged than the document body. Likewise, the main damaging factor was the anthropogenic. It is necessary to increase the education and training of users as regards the care and conservation of documents.
