Abstract

The need for Cuban Medical literature systematization is evidenced as an alternative to facilitate the access of new generations to scientific production of past periods. The real possibilities to fulfill this purpose are clear, using the new technologies of information and communication available in Infomed and the antecedents are exposed. The work results are exposed to get acquainted the valuable existing medical and scientific information source in Cuba in colonial times and also provide an easier access by full digitalization. The RECU database is presented, an intermediate step among the needs of historical information and their fulfillment, because it offers bibliographic data and also the XIX century Cuban Medical journal articles location.
