Some essential concepts and definitions that are useful to understand the advances of modern biochemistry and genetics are dealt with aimed at contributing to the creation of a basic culture on certain fundamental topics for the work of information professionals in the new modern medicine settings. The introduction of these notions into the daily vocabulary of these professionals will make possible their approximation to the genomic environment of the new clinical medicine.
