When one glances through the endless book of history and reads about the lives and actions of persons with great merits for their perseverance and dedication, the luminous trail they leave behind causes pleasant admiration. Thera are plenty of examples of human beings, who, in the course of time, have made unforgettable achievements with which they have conquered the glory. Nevertheless, it is very sad to leaf through this book about someone very close that also deserves to reach posterity and getting to the first blank page after having turned numerous written pages. The recent death of Dr. José López Sánchez has left the iciest empty space among his colleagues and disciples, and the grief of an irreparable and regrettable loss in the institutions where he worked. Overwhelmed by the painful impression caused by his death , the author of this paper tries to approach his work as a publicist and biblographer, as well as his contributions, paying a modest homage to his memory from the perspective of the information sciences
