Abstract

SOKOL, Natalia  and  LINARES COLUMBIE, Radamés. Insertion of mathematical methods in the study of the information concept. ACIMED [online]. 2006, vol.14, n.5. ISSN 1024-9435.

The current tendencies in the approach of the concept of information are dealt with, making emphasis on its measurable and physical dimension, where the mathematical applications influence the most. In this sense, Shannon and Weaver's mathematical information theory, as well as the most significant contributions of other scientists, are analyzed. The considerations of the followers of the cognitive approach of information are also examined.
