Abstract

The use of strategic surveillance in one of its lines, called trend analysis, is approached. A methodology of use, applicable to the information organizations that contribute to the centers of investigation and development (I + D), in the health field, biomedical sciences and environment is formalized, using a study case that is useful for the information professionals to respond to the disquiets and needs of the analysis of Internet tendencies. The relevance of the information analysis is emphasized. The surveillance category is related to others linked with enterprise intelligence, which is considered a working tool.
