The evaluation of information units is a need and a challenge for its constant improvement. The evaluation of the impact of the information institutions allows the measurement of the results of its work from the social point of view. A series of theoretical aspects related to the assessment of the impact on this type of institution, as well as the real possibilities of its determination, is exposed.
