Abstract

The interdisciplinary essence of Library Science and Information Sciences was studied. The period from the appearance of their first empirical activities to the formation of the disciplines that defined them and their present conception as sciences was analyzed. A proposal on the forms in which interdisciplinarity manifest was presented, and examples were given in correspondance with the theorical conceptions defined along its historical evolution.
