Abstract

ARTILES VISBAL, Sara M. Documental, information and knowledge management in the enterprise: The Cuban case. ACIMED [online]. 2009, vol.19, n.5. ISSN 1024-9435.

The information age, its components, and the impact of information and communications technologies on the enterprise systems are described. The importance and the role of information and knowledge management as strategic resources to achieve the essential objectives in the enterprise are stressed. The relationship existing among the documentary, information and knowledge management; the importance of each of them and the synergy developed among them are exposed. The documentary management is recognized as the tangible expression of tacit knowledge turned into explicit. The legal regulations supporting the establishment of these approaches in Cuba are explored as well as their specific incidence on the entrepreneurial sector are explored. It is explained how the Model and System of Evaluation of High Performance Enterprises is a proposal for the improvement of their subsystem of internal information, on establishing the documentary verification as a requirement in each of the criteria groups used to carry out the evaluation.
