A short overview about the knowledge and its introduction in the development of organizations nowadays is done. Its origin and evolution in the organizations is studied, as well as the relation that is established between the steps of knowledge as a key macro-process and the intellectual capital. The main components of the measurement models are presented at the same time that the social and cultural capital is incorporated as important elements in the treatment of these aspects. Finally, some indicators of measurement of the previous models for the measurement of the intellectual capital are studied.
