The art of researching does not escape from these modes, but favours their manifestation and expansion, which are generally associated with certain paradigms of research. The present study focuses on one of them: the qualitative paradigm. Starting from the conceptualisation of its specific characteristics, its presence in the research of Library Science and Information Science is studied and it is exemplified in the fields of information retrieval and user studies.
