INTRODUCTION: The presence of errors of the working out or scientific papers is one of the more frequent phenomena present in our medical journals in past years. It to result in that many of the papers received being rejected because of not fulfil with the format established for this purpose. OBJECTIVES: To diagnose the learning needs of health professionals of Villa Clara province and also to design and to implement an educational multimedia for its training in the creation of scientific papers. METHODS: Theoretical methods were used like the historical-logical, the inductive-deductive and the modeling. As empirical the documentary analysis, the survey, the interview, the triangulation and the actors and specialists were used. RESULTS: The time devoted to training of health professionals on the subject related to scientific publications is insufficient, leading to a poor knowledge on this subject. The printed bibliography on the scientific communication subject and also on the preparations of scientific publications is scarce; there were not evidences of software for the training of health professionals en relation to elaboration of scientific publications, since not all may to have access with the same easiness to materials available in Infomed. CONCLUSIONS: It is insufficient the training of health professional from the Villa Clara province in the elaboration of scientific papers. Multimedia is a tool needed to create the medical scientific papers to be used by health professionals.
