Abstract

CANEDO ANDALIA, Rubén. The search engines in retrieval of health information. ACIMED [online]. 2011, vol.22, n.3, pp.219-236. ISSN 1024-9435.

The general search engines are search tools the most popular on the Web. Perhaps for this reason too they are in many academic circles. However, there is often an incorrect operation of these tools, both for the place where they are located in all available information resources in a discipline, as underemployment of the facilities offered by their interfaces. For this reason, we need to know some basics for better jobs. It made a brief reference to the use of general and specialized academic search engines in health. It is not acceptable to say that search engines are inadequate tools for finding health information. Except that every action has a purpose, design and contents, led to a potential user community and in keeping with this should be used.

Keywords : Information search; academic and medical search engines; Internet.
