An epidemiological study of suicides occurred from 1980 to 1995 in Camaguey province was carried out. It brought about a total of 2778 deceased. The purpose was the investigation of some variables related to this phenomenum. Computed procedures were used for crossing variables, chi-square test, proportion hypothesis test and reasons of cross-products for showing statistical significance, and rates were used for elaborating tendency line by the minimal squared method. 1472 men and 1306 women committed suicide, more than half of a total of women who committed suicide were found below 35 years-old. Men had greater frequency above 34 years; predominating in older ages at 64 years-old. In the rural area, greater risk of suicide was found than in the urban one. Tendency lines of the province rates from 1980 to 1991 period are decreasing although when the period is enhanced from 1980-1995, tendency for falling is less marked.
