Abstract

BARRETO ARGILAGOS, Guillermo. Escherichia coli: a challenge after 111 years of study. AMC [online]. 1997, vol.1, n.2. ISSN 1025-0255.

During almost two decades, the diagnosis of E. Coli is not performed in the country within the schedule for the study of enteropathogens to be evaluated in cases of acute diarrheic disease. This work shows the need of establishing in the country technics for the diagnosis, mainly of the enterotoxigenic and - enterohemorrhagic varieties and suggests, for such purpose, the mannose -resistent hemoagglulination technics and determination of the enterohemolysin, respectively.
