Abstract

GARCIA VELAZQUEZ, Eddy  and  QUINTANA LOPEZ, Luis. Informed consent in medical practice. AMC [online]. 1998, vol.2, n.1. ISSN 1025-0255.

A cross-sectional, analytic and descriptive study on bioethics was carried out, dealing with the fulfillment of the informed consent in the internal medicine service of "Amalia Simoni" Provincial Teaching Hospital from Camaguey city, with the purpose of knowing which information patients need to receive and how the lack of it influences on the complaints for unsatisfaction on the part of the community as to the health service. It is concluded that the information should be clear, effective and complete, and answer only to what the doctor has noticed; through an adequate physician-patient relationship. It was observed that 100% of unsatisfaction complaints were due to the incorrect use of the informed consent by the physician to patient or relatives.
