A descriptive, observative and cross-sectional study was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the clinical performance in dental internists in the abilities of elaboration of clinical recorders in primary care, diagnosis and treatment of chronic gingivitis and periodontal emergencies as to stomatological clinics. Generally, the evaluation of the clinical performance of dental internists was satisfactory. It was shown that students "Ignacio Agramonte" Polyclinic reached the best results in most of the abilities selected, and comparing these data with the evaluation in previously related subjects, atatistics dependence was only determined in the abilities of dianosis and treatment of dental caries extraction of normally erupted teeth and periodontal emergencies.
