Abstract

ROMAY BUITRAGO, Raúl et al. Peripheral vascular disease in impotent diabetic patients. AMC [online]. 1998, vol.2, n.3. ISSN 1025-0255.

In this work we have reviewed the results of the study of 46 diabetic patients, suffering from sexual erectile disfunction where the existence of peripheral vascular disease of the lower limbs was determined in 36 of them 82,61%. They underwent an interrogatory, physical examination, biochemical, haemodynamics, and radiological studies of the vascular system. The injury of plantar arteries in both feet was found in 24 patients, 52,17%. We also found significant relationships among the type of diabetes and the cause of erectile failure. The most important was the neurovascular etiology, 23 men, (50%). Finally, we showed the factors that influence in our findings.
