Abstract

A descriptive, cross­sectional study was carried out for knowing the occupational accidentality in the Sanitary slaughter­house of Guanavaquilla, which belongs to the alimentary industry of Camagüey province during the year 1995. The universe of the study was composed of 19 workers injured through accidents in that stage. Registers´ acts of morbimortality due to occupational accidents collected in the survey of the 492 resolution, the individual clinical record of the patient and the occupational registers of the provincial direction of the inspection of the state committee of work and social security were obtained. Concluding, accidentality markers were higher than those of the alimentary sector? workers of 21 to 30 and of 51 to 60 age groups were more affected among the studied workers. Boning was the most frequent cause of superficial and deep injuries in the hands with cutting instruments. In more than 60% of the cases, the individual protection means for these occupations were not used.
